Tinkertopia

Tinkertopia sells reused and salvaged arts and craft supplies, sourced from local businesses that would otherwise send safe materials to the waste stream. The shop carries low-cost used art supplies, handmade sketchbooks, refurbished antiques and novelty kits, and the Tinkerspace craft room runs timed sessions where kids, teens and adults build assemblage art from donated materials. The business also hosts birthday parties and group craft outings.

The retail space does not require a reservation, but Tinkerspace craft sessions do, and bookings are recommended two weeks ahead for larger families. Tinkerspace is designed for ages 6 and up. Donations can be scheduled for drop-off, and local pickups are available. Tinkertopia is on the UW Tacoma campus at 1914 Pacific Avenue, and the T Line light rail stops nearby.
