Pacific Lutheran University

Pacific Lutheran University is a university in South Tacoma. Its recreation department runs the Names Fitness Center, a 5,500-square-foot building with cardio equipment, strength machines and free weights, attached to Memorial Gym. Intramural leagues, club sports, outdoor recreation trips and a campus swimming pool round out the offerings.

The fitness center and group exercise classes are open free of charge to current students and staff, and outside visitors are not admitted. Students must complete a liability waiver before visiting, or their Lute Card will not work, and the waiver can take a business day to activate. Parking is in the Ivy Lot next to the tennis courts across 124th Street. Hours change by semester, and closures are posted on the recreation pages.
