A Shade Above The Rest

A Shade Above The Rest sells and installs custom window treatments, including plantation shutters, blinds, shades and awnings. The company brands its products from well-known manufacturers and now makes plantation shutters in house. Motorized shades and blinds are also offered.

The team measures each window and has products cut to fit, then handles installation. Free in-home consultations and estimates are offered, and temporary shades can be cut while custom orders are being made. The business is family-run by cousins Sam Wood and Mike Van Axen and says it has more than 25 years of experience. The showroom is listed at 1005 W. 5th N. St. in Summerville, and service extends to Charleston, Mount Pleasant, James Island, Johns Island and nearby areas.
