Venture Investment Associates

Venture Investment Associates, also known as VIA, is an employee-owned manager of private equity funds of funds. It invests across venture capital, growth equity, buyouts and energy, with total capital commitments above $1.6 billion. Its investors include endowments, foundations, family offices and financial institutions, and its funds hold stakes in private equity partnerships that are often closed to new investors.

The firm was founded in 1993 to acquire a private equity portfolio from American Express and shifted to a fund of funds model in 1994. Its headquarters is in Peapack, New Jersey, with a second office in Sugar Land, Texas, near Houston. The company's focus is on long-term capital appreciation for its limited partners, and it is not a service business that takes walk-in clients.
