Unisteel

Unisteel is a steel distribution and processing facility that supplies tool, mold, alloy and low-carbon steels, mainly to the tool, mold and die industries and metalworking shops across the Great Lakes region. Its stock includes cold work tool steel, plastic mold steel, hot work tool steel and aluminum, and it offers custom sawing, grinding, milling and other machining of steel. The company says its UNISQ squared steel, cut to tight tolerances on up to six sides, is its most popular product.

Unisteel works mostly by quote, and the company says a phone call gets the fastest turnaround. It offers 24/7 accessibility and its own delivery trucks, and it sells to customers well beyond Michigan. The facility is in Sterling Heights, just outside Detroit, in a 36,000 square-foot building.
