Sugar Land Dance Center

Sugar Land Dance Center has taught children and adults to dance since opening its studio in 1982. Its classes cover ballet, tap and jazz for young students, and it also offers adult dance and an introductory program for new students. Beyond technique, the studio weaves in math, physics, French, music theory and skills like time management, perseverance and teamwork.

Students can take part in an annual production of The Nutcracker at Dunham Theater on the Houston Christian University campus, along with recitals and performance awards that include scholarship opportunities. Enrollment includes a leotard, tights and dance shoes, and parents can watch classes through the studio's windows. The center is at 609 Dulles Avenue, and it also offers a recreational track for students who don't want to compete.
