Avalon Exchange is a buy, sell and trade resale clothing boutique that buys fashion from the public every day. Its best-known event is the twice-yearly Dollar Sale, when thousands of items go for $1 each.

The St. Louis store is on Delmar Boulevard, and neighbors can bring in clothes to sell or trade without an appointment. Shoppers can sign up for Dollar Sale notifications, and the store is open later on Fridays and Saturdays. The company says it hires often across its stores.
