Voices of Courage

Voices of Courage is a nationally accredited child advocacy center serving children and families across nine counties in Northwest Missouri. When abuse or trauma is alleged, its staff responds alongside a multi-disciplinary team, with services that include forensic interviews, child therapy, child and family advocacy, and prevention education. The center was the first child advocacy center in Missouri and opened its doors in 1993.

All of its services are free to the families it serves, and it is funded in part through donations, including the Missouri Champion for Children tax credit. Its office is at 702 Jules Street in St. Joseph, and the center works to keep children who disclose abuse from being further victimized by the systems meant to protect them.
