San Mateo County Parks

The San Mateo County Parks Department runs the county's network of regional parks, trails, beaches and natural areas, from Coyote Point on the bay to Pescadero Creek Park in the hills. Its Crystal Springs Regional Trail is one of the best-known routes, and the department organizes guided hikes, events and a self-guided tour app for people who prefer to explore on their own.

Visitors can buy park passes and reserve picnic and event facilities through the department. The Take A Hike challenge rewards people who complete hikes across the county's parks, and volunteer and donation programs are open to the public. The main office is in Redwood City. Anyone who sees a dead or leaning tree in a county park that borders their property can request an arborist inspection.
