About Kim's Hapkido

The story

Kim's Hapkido teaches Jang Mu Won Hapkido, a martial art founded by Grandmaster Kim that combines self-defense with the water, circle and ki principles. Classes range from Little Dragons for ages 2 to 4 through children's self-defense, teen and adult training, women-only kickboxing and a black belt club. The school also offers weapons training, private lessons and birthday parties.

The South Pasadena studio is one of several branches, with others in Alhambra and Yucaipa. Students work through a belt system with periodic testing, and the school holds an annual tournament and seminars. Summer boot camps run during school breaks. The school closes on many holidays, so check the posted class schedule before visiting.
