Two-year certificate and online three-week course in golf turf management102 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, NJ

The Professional Golf Turf Management Program at Rutgers trains people to care for golf courses and sports fields. Its two-year certificate combines two 10-week sessions on the New Brunswick campus with a 200-hour paid internship between them, and alumni work as golf course superintendents and assistant superintendents in almost all 50 states and abroad.
A three-week preparatory course, offered online each January with live Zoom classes, suits people new to turf or short on time, and it has no application process or prerequisites. The two-year program requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one season of work on a golf course or sports field. Tuition is $6,495 per 10-week session, with payment plans, financial aid and scholarships available, and a free consultation can be requested before enrolling. Program coordinator Elizabeth Coogan handles student questions.
