The Urban Winery of Silver Spring

The Urban Winery of Silver Spring makes its wines on site from grapes sourced mostly from local and regional growers, about 85 percent of them local. The tasting room pours more than 30 of its own wines alongside Maryland craft beer, local spirits and international bottles, and it offers wine flights, tastings, classes and educational tours. Live music, wine festivals and farmers market appearances fill much of the calendar.

The winery is a family-run independent business in an industrial area off Brookville Road, and parking is free. It is open six days a week, closed Mondays, and walk-ins are welcome, though groups of five or more should reserve ahead. Private events can be booked by inquiry, and outside food and drink are not allowed on the premises. Wines can also be ordered online or found at Maryland retail stores.
