Totally Free Clothes Shelby

Totally Free Clothes is a nonprofit clothing store in Shelby that gives away clothing for men, women and children, along with socks and shoes. Everything on the racks is donated, and the store serves hundreds of people each week, with well over a thousand items going out the door. Next door, the Totally Thrifty Thrift Store sells donated goods, and those sales help cover the costs of keeping the free store open.

Shoppers choose what they need and check out at no charge. The store tracks inventory so that everyone has a fair chance at the items available. It is open on weekdays except Wednesday, when it is closed for restocking, though donations are accepted at the side door that day. The group also runs a Mobile Clothes Store that sets up at locations around town.
