Sewickley Community Center

The Sewickley Community Center, known locally as the Center, is a community resource and recreation hub that offers programs, activities and affordable shared space. It was founded in 1935 by a group of young African American men as the Sewickley Colored Community Center, after a flood closed the local YMCA that served the Black community, and it officially opened in 1937. Programs include Homework Huddle, the H.O.P.E. Program, Mindset of a Leader and Young Lions, along with a food pantry and a pool.

The building can be rented for events, with a community room and a meeting room that both have kitchens, a gym, pool space, outdoor picnic areas, and a ball diamond and field. Custom spaces can be arranged on request, and rentals are arranged through the Center's programs office. Volunteers and partners are welcome, and the Center is located at 15 Chadwick Street in Sewickley.
