Essential Grooming & Wellness

Essential Grooming & Wellness is a family-run salon in Santee that grooms dogs and cats, with a focus on full scissor cuts and hand-finished haircuts. Dog grooms range from a basic bath to a full bath and haircut, and the nails, ears and glands are included in the price rather than charged as extras. Cat grooming covers baths, haircuts and de-shedding, worked at each cat's own pace.

Full baths and haircuts are by appointment, which can be booked online or by phone. Nail trims, ear cleaning and anal gland checks are walk-in only during set weekday and Friday and Saturday afternoon hours. The salon does not offer de-matting or hand-stripping, and it does not provide mobile grooming. It is in Carlton Oaks Plaza, with parking right out front, and cancellations need 24 hours' notice to avoid a fee.
