Simonian Rugs

Simonian Rugs is a family-run rug cleaner and restorer in San Mateo, open since 1956. The shop identifies each rug by origin and weave before cleaning, and handles everything from Persian and Turkish pieces to Moroccan, Tibetan, Navajo and Chinese rugs. Cleaning is done by hand, and the business also offers repair, reweaving, fringe work, moth protection, pet odor removal and custom rug pads.

You can walk in without an appointment. Two master weavers work on site, and the business offers pickup and delivery across the Bay Area, with free local pick-up and delivery in San Mateo. Rugs are washed in a full-immersion wash plant at the San Mateo location, and the shop is a BBB accredited business.
