San Jose Stage Company

San Jose Stage Company, known as The Stage, is a professional theatre company that stages new, cutting-edge work as well as reinterpretations of American literature and world classics. Productions use innovative stagecraft and multimedia, performed by local actors in repertory style. The company has produced 165 productions, including 18 world premieres and 49 new works.

The Stage is a downtown venue with a three-quarter thrust stage, where the farthest seat is no more than 15 feet from the stage. Ticket sales cover about half of operating costs, so donations and sponsorships matter, and subscriptions are offered. Box office questions go to the phone line or boxoffice@thestage.org. The address is 490 South 1st Street in San Jose.
