New Bohemia Signs

New Bohemia Signs is a San Francisco sign shop that works exclusively in hand-painted signs, going back to 1993. The shop paints storefront windows, sign boards, and walls, and is known for gold leaf work, including gold on glass, architectural gilding, and transom address numbers. Menus, A-frame signs, and original designs are also part of the work.

The shop can design a sign from scratch or paint from a design the customer provides, and it will also paint on a board or surface the customer brings in. Work is done in glossy enamel and genuine gold leaf. Shop hours are weekdays from 11am to 6pm. The shop is at 281 9th Street in San Francisco, and it also teaches classes.
