City Kayak™ in San Francisco

City Kayak rents kayaks and stand-up paddleboards and runs guided trips on San Francisco Bay, with group tours, beginner trips, full moon paddles and classes that include a week-long youth summer camp. The shop also sells gear, offers frequent-use passes and an ownership program, and stores kayaks for members near the water.

Reservations for rentals and trips can be made online, and each paddler must sign a liability waiver before going out. The shop is on Pier 40 at South Beach Harbor, a short paddle from McCovey Cove, and visitors check in inside the building. Parking is limited, so public transit is a practical option, and belongings can be checked in at the shop. Group events of six or more can be booked on any day of the week.
