Specs Optometry

Specs Optometry is a family-owned optometry practice with several San Diego offices, including the Carmel Valley location at One Paseo. The eye care side offers comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting including specialty scleral lenses for keratoconus and other corneal conditions, eye exams for children, and dry eye treatment. The optical side carries a curated range of independent designer frames and sunglasses, and opticians help with styling and fit.

Exams are by appointment, and walk-ins are taken when the office has availability, so calling ahead is the surest way to be seen. The practice accepts VSP, EyeMed, MES, Blue Shield PPO and Blue Cross through Anthem, and staff can help sort out vision benefits by phone. Dilation is recommended for annual exams, and the office uses ultra-widefield retinal imaging to check the outer retina. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday.
