Sarah Murray Paintings Conservation

Sarah Murray Art Restoration and Conservation treats oil paintings and works on other supports from many periods. Painting conservator Sarah Murray handles varnish and grime removal, stabilizing cracked and flaking paint, repairing torn canvas and lining, revarnishing, and reconstructive inpainting. Past clients include museums and private collectors.

Initial consultations and treatment proposals are free, and Murray will travel to inspect and work onsite, including after fire or flood. Work begins only after the owner receives a full explanation of the recommended treatment, with priorities and budget shaping the plan. The studio is on Morena Boulevard in San Diego, and it also offers lectures and workshops on caring for art for schools and groups.
