Back From Tomboctou

Back From Tomboctou is a folk art shop on Adams Avenue that sells genuine handmade crafts from traditional artisans in many regions around the world. The owners say they refuse to sell industrialized copies of traditional designs, and the shop has been showcasing these traditions since it opened in 1983.

The shop runs craft workshops in its garden where families and friends can make things together, and it also offers workshop kits, in-person activities for larger events, and discounted rates for scheduled workshops. Groups are asked to include their expected size when they get in touch. Browsers are welcome at the store, and visits at other times can be arranged by phone. The shop is in Normal Heights in San Diego.
