Turfgrass Producers of Texas

Turfgrass Producers of Texas is a trade association of sod farms and related businesses across the state. Chartered in 1972, it promotes the Texas sod industry through educational materials and encourages members to adopt higher business standards. The group represents more than 80 sod farms and supports university research into turf varieties that are more drought-tolerant and resistant to pests and disease.

The association does not sell sod itself. People looking for grass can use its membership directory to find a nearby grower, or contact the group for help choosing a variety for a home lawn, sports field, golf course or commercial site. Members commit to ethical business practices and environmentally responsible sod farming, harvesting and delivery. Its mailing address is a post office box in Glen Rose.
