American Legion Post 1776

American Legion Post 1776 is the Apple Valley chapter of The American Legion, a veterans organization chartered by Congress in 1919. The post serves veterans in Dakota County and the surrounding area, with members volunteering on veteran issues, youth activities and community enrichment. Membership is open to those who served at least one day of active duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged, or are still serving honorably.

The post runs Patriots Restaurant & Bar, a full-service restaurant and bar that is open to the public and also offers banquet room space and catering. The post also awards scholarships to children and grandchildren of veterans for post-secondary education. The building is at 14521 Granada Drive in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
