Schulte's Greenhouse & Nursery

Schulte's Greenhouse & Nursery grows most of the plants it sells in its own greenhouses and nursery, with a focus on unusual and hard-to-find perennials, trees, shrubs and evergreens. Annuals, fruit and vegetable plants fill out the spring selection, and the shop also carries gifts, garden decor and lawn and garden care products. The family-owned business has been serving customers for more than 60 years.

The seasonal stock changes through the year, from Easter plants and garden seeds in spring to pumpkins, mums and straw bales in fall, and Christmas trees, wreaths and poinsettias in winter. Staff offer plant diagnosis and consulting, and an online Plant Finder lets shoppers search the selection before they visit. Gift cards are popular with customers. The garden center sits about a mile south of St. Michael on County Road 19, and hours shift by season, with the shop closed in January and February.
