La Taza is a café serving made-from-scratch food inspired by European and Latin American cooking. The menu centers on appetizers, sandwiches, soups, salads and homemade desserts, with Peruvian and European influences on many sandwiches and salads dressed with a house vinaigrette. Coffee drinks are made with a South American blend, and the café also makes its own Red Sangria.
The café serves lunch on weekdays, with table service or takeout, and you can call ahead to place a takeout order. Beer and European and South American wines are also available. It's a laid-back, clean space with plenty of parking, located in the Winn-Dixie Plaza a few miles south of downtown St. Augustine.
