North End Taproom

North End Taproom is a self-pour bar with 40 taps of craft beer, cider, seltzer and wine. Guests open a tab with a debit or credit card, get a smart wristband, and pour as much or as little as they like, paying by the ounce. The owners, Jon and Katheryn, helped shape the state bill that made self-pour bars legal in Michigan, and the taproom opened in August 2024.

Non-alcoholic choices on tap include an NA beer, cold brew coffee and soda, and a full kitchen serves food from its menu. Takeout and gift cards are available, and private events can be booked. The small patio out front is dog friendly. Drinks can be filled as to-go cups inside the downtown Royal Oak social district or canned in a crowler machine at 30 percent off. The taproom is on South Main Street in downtown Royal Oak.
