White Fence Farm

White Fence Farm is a long-running family restaurant known for fried chicken. The kitchen coats fresh chicken in a house breading, pressure cooks it, then flash fries it so it reaches the table hot and crispy. Sides include pickled beets, kidney bean salad, cottage cheese, coleslaw, homemade corn fritters and Brandy Ice for dessert. The menu also has broiled or sauteed Icelandic fish, french fried shrimp, T-bone steaks and roasted chicken.

The main dining room is at 1376 Joliet Road in Romeoville, and the restaurant has carry-out spots in Joliet, Downers Grove and Riverside as well. Dine-in is open Tuesday through Sunday, and the Romeoville carry-out window runs Tuesday through Sunday as well. Reservations are taken for parties of eight or more, and the restaurant does not split checks. The lobby has a small antique car and memorabilia display, and the grounds include alpacas and a mini goat. Gift cards are sold at all locations.
