Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity

Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit that builds homes with volunteers and partner families across the region. Its work covers first-time homebuyer programs, home repairs, and HUD housing counseling, with pre-purchase workshops for people preparing to buy. The organization also runs ReStore resale shops that sell donated building materials, furniture and appliances, and a kitchen deconstruction service.

The affiliate formed in January 2023 when Flower City Habitat in Rochester, Ontario County Habitat in Canandaigua and Wayne County Habitat in Newark merged, and it now serves all three counties. Its offices are on Culver Road in Rochester. Donation pickups are scheduled by phone and only within a set driving distance of a ReStore, so check eligibility first. Volunteers can join build days, including women build and faith build programs.
