Yates Appellate Law

Yates Appellate Law is an appellate practice handling criminal and civil appeals in Virginia, from the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Virginia down to brief writing and trial-stage support. The firm was founded in April 2024 by Rachel Yates, and its attorneys include former public defenders, law clerks and prosecutors, along with a former appellate attorney at the Virginia Office of the Attorney General.

The practice works with clients directly and also with trial lawyers who want appellate help on an hourly basis, including brief review, research and moot courts. Work is handled virtually, with conference space in Richmond available when needed, and the firm serves clients across Virginia. Consultations are scheduled through the firm's contact form or by phone.
