Slow-smoked Texas BBQ cooked over vintage oak wine staves9823 Harlem Road, Richmond, TX

Harlem Road Texas BBQ is a small barbecue restaurant known for handmade sausage, slow-smoked brisket and pork, and house-made bacon and butter. Meat is smoked over vintage oak wine staves, which the restaurant says gives its food a distinct smoky flavor. The menu is sold by the pound, with pints and quarts of sides like potato salad, coleslaw, BBQ beans and mac and cheese, plus a few specials and pecan pie or chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
The restaurant is at 9823 Harlem Road in Richmond, just inside Highway 99 on the southwest side of Houston. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, open 11am to 8pm Wednesday through Friday, and open 11am until sold out on weekends, so it's best to come early. It is a B.Y.O.B. establishment, and catering and party orders are handled by email.
