BALDERDASH CELLARS

Balderdash Cellars is a boutique winery in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, founded in 2011. It makes wines from grapes grown by California vineyards, and the owners, Christian and Donna Hanson, rely on a large crew of family and friends who help through every stage of winemaking. Each wine comes with a playful, tall-tale backstory.

The tasting room is open Wednesday through Sunday afternoons and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Groups up to 25 don't need a reservation, and tables are first come, first served, so fall weekends fill up fast. Larger groups should reserve ahead. Guests can bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks, while cheese and crackers and Sisters of Anarchy ice cream are offered on site. Outside alcohol isn't allowed. Leashed dogs are welcome, but other pets are not. The winery also hosts private events.
