Project Discovery

Project Discovery is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that runs leadership and team-building programs built around a ropes challenge course of more than 50 low and high elements at Sky Tavern Ski Area. Its groups include school classes, corporate teams, summer campers and birthday parties, and the team can bring portable challenge elements to schools or offices year round.

The ropes course closes for the winter on October 20 and usually reopens in late April or early May, depending on snow levels, so groups should reserve early for the 2026 season. The organization also offers snowshoe trips, backcountry skiing, resort skiing instruction and a newer avalanche awareness course. Bookings go through the phone line or email, and the course is at Sky Tavern in Reno.
