Welsh Insurance Services is an independent insurance brokerage in Redlands that focuses on Medicare for people nearing retirement. The agency helps clients compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Part D prescription plans, and also handles Individual and Family plans, Covered California plans and small business group health plans. Owners Scott and Sarah Welsh say they have helped more than 4,000 local customers with their health care choices.

Consultations are free and carry no obligation, and the agency is paid by the health plan, so there are no broker's fees. Meetings usually run about an hour at the office next to the former Social Security office on Redlands Boulevard, and in-home appointments are available. The agency also hosts periodic Medicare open enrollment meetings at the Museum of Redlands and the Ayres Hotel Redlands, with RSVPs required.
