Smith & Solomon Commercial Driver Training

Smith & Solomon Commercial Driver Training has been teaching CDL classes for more than four decades. Programs cover Class A and Class B licenses, the passenger endorsement, and refresher courses for drivers who have not driven in six months. Training mixes classroom, yard and road instruction on modern trucks, and the company also offers forklift operation, driver recruitment and evaluation, and DOT consulting for employers.

The Linden school sits right off Route 1 & 9 South and draws students from Elizabeth and Newark. Classes run full-time during the day or part-time on weekends, and the school is listed as open around the clock. Job placement assistance is part of the program, and the company also trains and evaluates drivers for corporations and government fleets.
