Beyond Borders Outfitters runs saltwater fishing charters out of Punta Gorda, with tarpon as its signature target. The guides also fish for snook, redfish, trout, sharks and cobia year-round, and seasonally for permit and pompano. Most trips are light tackle or fly fishing on Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande Pass.

Tarpon charters run from late March through October, a longer stretch than the traditional May to early July season in Boca Grande Pass. Trips suit first-timers as well as experienced anglers, and the company also hosts groups and companies. Trips run 4, 6, 8 or 12 hours, and bookings can be made online or by phone. A consultant answers the phone during the day, and the company says it has a guaranteed fish or no charge policy.
