Hallowell Harvest Farm

Hallowell Harvest Farm raises quail for eggs and meat and bakes small-batch sourdough using wild fermentation. The Peaveys also sell live quail for breeding, and they plan to add pasture-raised rabbit, chicken and crops as the farm grows. Their approach centers on regenerative farming, with no harmful chemicals and close attention to animal welfare.

Customers order online and pick up at the porch on Hallowell Road in Pownal on Wednesdays and Fridays, or buy at the Portland Farmers' Market, at Deering Oaks Park in spring and fall and at Stevens Square in winter. Gift cards are available. Brandon and Kyla Peavey run the farm, with Kyla handling much of the daily business and bakery work.
