Powell Counseling Center

Powell Counseling Center provides mental health counseling for children, teens, and adults, with couples and family counseling available as well. Its services cover individual counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life changes, along with perinatal and parenthood support, premarital counseling, family therapy, and mental health and substance use assessments. The practice is women-owned and was formed when two independent practices came together, with a focus on access to care in underserved and rural parts of North Knox County.

Visits are by appointment, and the center is not a 24-hour crisis center, so people in immediate danger should call 911 or go to an emergency department, and 988 handles crisis calls or texts. Telehealth is available alongside in-person sessions at the Clinton Highway office in Powell. Before booking, the office suggests asking about availability, fees, and whether a clinician takes your insurance, and new clients can start with a brief inquiry by phone or email.
