Oishii Japanese Bistro

Oishii Japanese Bistro serves sushi, rolls, sashimi and Japanese kitchen entrees, with a menu that includes specialty rolls such as the Firefly Roll and Kiss of Fire alongside teriyaki, hibachi-style plates and yakisoba. Starters range from miso soup and edamame to crab rangoon, coconut shrimp and scallion pancakes, and the dessert list offers fried ice cream and mochi ice cream.

Chef Dennis trained in sushi in New York City, and his wife Brianna manages the restaurant and focuses on customer service. The restaurant is at 8 N Liberty St in Powell, and it does not take reservations except for parties of six or more, which require a non-refundable deposit of $10 per person. Walk-ins go on a waitlist, and the busiest stretch is around 6 to 7:30 pm.
