So Cal Famous Beach Ice

So Cal Famous Beach Ice makes Philadelphia-style Italian water ice and gourmet beach ice in bright fruit and specialty flavors such as pink lemonade and root beer. The business began as a catering operation, bringing its frozen desserts to parties, school fundraisers, corporate events and community festivals across San Diego County, and it has also served at farmers markets. Owner-operators Scott and Ally bring more than 18 years of dessert catering experience to each event.

Catering runs on portable Italian ice stations that can be set up at private homes, parks, schools and offices, and quotes are requested through the website or by phone. The Poway shop is a newer storefront with an outside bar top for a quick cold treat, and it also sells a few local products like jarred honey. Customers say the staff are friendly and the portions are reasonable.
