FOPPL

FOPPL is the Friends of Portsmouth Public Library, a volunteer group that runs used book sales and supports library programs. Its sales cover a variety of genres and book types, and all proceeds go to FOPPL and library programs. The group also maintains Little Free Libraries and sponsors local authors who want to share their work in library meeting rooms.

The main book sale is held on Saturdays from 10 to 2 at the Main Library on Court Street, using the side entrance. A second sales location, the Book Nook at the Churchland Library on High Street West, is open weekdays as well. Volunteers work two-hour shifts on Saturdays and get a free book for every two hours worked, and they can also sort and shelve donations through the month.
