Montaup Country Club is an 18-hole semi-private golf course in Portsmouth, a few minutes from Newport. The course is fairly open and flat, but coastal winds make shot-making and precision a real part of the round. Its signature hole, the Par 5 16th, overlooks Mount Hope Bay and the Mount Hope Bridge.
The course is open year-round, so it draws golfers in the off-season as well as summer players. The club also hosts group outings and an annual charity golf tournament, with proceeds going to local charities. The club is at 500 Anthony Road in Portsmouth.
