Brewster's Bait & Tackle

Brewster's Bait & Tackle is a bait and tackle shop on Mechanic Street in Portsmouth. It stocks live bait including worms, squid, clams and mackerel, along with terminal tackle, plugs, rubber baits, sabiki rigs and flounder and striper setups. Gravity tackle and Knotty Girl lures are also carried, and the shop sells ice along with hats and shirts.

The shop rents fishing poles by the half day or the whole day. It is closed for the 2026 season and plans to reopen in 2027, so anyone planning a trip should wait until then. Brewster's is a short walk from the water for anglers who want to pick up bait and gear before heading out.
