Maine Hardware

Maine Hardware is a full-line hardware store in Portland, selling tools, paint, electrical supplies and household hardware, with an in-house rental center for equipment such as lawn mowers, tillers, floor sanders and pressure washers. The store also offers key copying, screen and window repair, knife and tool sharpening, and plumbing repairs. It is an Ace Hardware store, so staff can special order items the shelves don't carry.

The store has been in Portland since 1934 and moved to its current location on St. John Street in 1978, occupying more than 37,000 square feet over two floors at Union Station Plaza. Its commercial electrical division serves contractors and local businesses, with free delivery to local businesses. Rentals are by the hour, day, week or month, and the store recycles CFL bulbs, paint and rechargeable batteries.
