Get Up & Go Improv

Get Up & Go Improv teaches improvisation classes and runs team-building improv workshops in Portland, Maine, with a 6-week beginner-friendly class format for all levels. Adam Groppman, a Second City Los Angeles-trained improviser who moved back to Maine after more than 20 years in Los Angeles, leads the sessions. The company also offers one-on-one stand-up comedy coaching and comedy set development.

Classes meet weekly in Portland at First Parish UU Church on Congress Street, and a newer six-week session runs in Bath at Winter Street Church. Corporate and organizational groups can book customizable workshops for team building, staff outings and retreats, and the company serves groups across New England. A free 90-minute introductory workshop is offered periodically, and improv grad shows are staged at Hi-Fidelity Brewing in East Bayside.
