Avesta Housing

Avesta Housing is a nonprofit that builds, rehabilitates and manages affordable homes for people in need in Maine and New Hampshire. The organization develops new housing and renovates older buildings, and it also offers housing stability resources for residents, professional advice and classes for first-time homebuyers, and independent and assisted living for older adults.

Renters can start an apartment application through the website, and current residents can reach a resident help center. Homebuyers can get guidance on purchasing. The Maine office is in Portland and a New Hampshire office is in Exeter, and both see visitors by appointment only.
