Charlotte County Healthy Start

Charlotte County Healthy Start is a free program that helps pregnant women, new parents and families with healthy pregnancies, safe births and young children. Its main services are Healthy Start home visiting, where a trained care coordinator meets regularly with a family to answer questions and build confidence caring for a baby, and the Fatherhood Initiative, which offers classes, group gatherings and one-on-one guidance for fathers and father figures with children of any age.

The CONNECT line is a good first call if you are not sure what fits. Staff listen to the situation and refer families to healthcare, parenting support or community services, including housing, food and mental health resources. Spanish is spoken, and translation and materials in other formats are available at no cost. The office is at 17825 Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte.
