Latitude 44 Bistro

Latitude 44 Bistro serves American bistro food with a French-trained touch, built around fresh ingredients, precise preparation and seasonal specials. Chef and owner David Allen, a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, cooked at five-star kitchens including Breakers in West Palm Beach and Lutece in Las Vegas before opening the restaurant in May 2012. House-made desserts and cocktails and mocktails from an in-house mixologist round out the menu.

The restaurant serves guests on a first-come, first-served basis and does not take reservations, so arriving early on a busy night helps. Lunch and dinner run Tuesday through Friday, with Saturday evening service. There is a full-service bar and patio dining when the weather allows. The Meridian Room hosts gatherings of up to 35 guests, and the whole restaurant can be rented for larger events, with catering on-site or off-site. Gift cards are available, and the restaurant is on US Avenue in Plattsburgh.
