James Hardie

James Hardie makes fiber cement siding, trim, soffit, weather barrier and interior backer board, sold through dealers and building contractors. Its main siding lines include lap and panel siding, Artisan siding, shake and shingle styles, and the Statement Collection of colors. Hardie fiber cement is noncombustible or Class A rated for fire under the ASTM E84 test, though paints and coatings can char.

Homeowners can start a project with the online Hardie Designer tool, which applies siding styles and colors to photos of a home, and can order color samples before deciding. The company also offers a re-side guide and advice on choosing a contractor. Installers and builders have their own hub with installation instructions and technical documents.
