Berkshire Place

Berkshire Place's in-home care program provides non-medical support for people who want to stay in their own homes, whether after a hospital stay or as their needs change. Caregivers help with bathing, dressing and grooming, companionship and conversation, medication assistance, transportation to appointments, errands, meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry. Respite care and temporary live-in help are also available.

The agency is a non-profit overseen by a local Board of Directors, with supervisors and management based in the Berkshires rather than an out-of-town corporation. There are no minimum service hours, and care plans are built around each person's own goals. Care can be provided in a private home, with relatives, or in independent living, assisted living or nursing home settings. Based in Pittsfield, the organization has served the community since 1888.
